I have some exciting news to share with you guys! Next week the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of our Behavioral Health Practice.

This event will take place on Tuesday, May 1st. It begins at 12 PM and will last approximately one hour. Light refreshments will be provided, including desserts from one of our favorite local businesses, T’s Tasty Treats.

As excited as we are to host this event, we are even more excited to be able to provide these much-needed services to the people of Taylor County. This program will be operated by talented and highly-trained staff including our Nurse Practitioner, Diana Boyle; a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Brandy Miller; and our Billing/Intake Specialist, Krista Turner.

The Behavioral Health Practice will be open to ALL citizens of Taylor County. The mission of Behavioral Health at the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department is to provide affordable, ethical, and benevolent outpatient services for adults and children with mental health, substance abuse, or learning/developmental issues.

These services include treatment for disorders such as: depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, domestic violence, child abuse, psychosis support, anger management, phobias, suicidal idealization, self-harming behaviors, parenting skills, ADHD assessment and management, school behavior and academic problems, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexuality concerns, death and dying, dementia, and so much more. These services include: individual, family, or group therapy, geriatric psychotherapy, basic psychological testing, and medication management.

Sounds like a lot, doesn’t it? That’s because it is! Here at the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department, we have worked hard to cater this program to the needs of Taylor County citizens. That’s why our program offers a wide variety of multi-faceted services, close to home.

All of the listed services (and more!) will be available May 1st. If you’re interested in these services, please don’t hesitate to call our Billing/Intake Specialist, Krista Turner at 304-265-1288. Information about our services is also available online at WWW.GTCHDWV.ORG or on our Facebook page at WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/GTCHDWV.
