We're expecting!

Here at the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department we are always looking for new and innovative ways to serve the community’s needs while keeping services affordable and readily available. 2017 has been a crazy year for our office and it’s only going to get crazier as we prepare for the unveiling of new programs and plans for a new building. I’m here to give you the inside scoop.

Last month we began offering Harm Reduction services. The goal of this program is to reduce the spread of illness and the sharing of needles. Services include: antibiotic therapy for skin abscesses/infections, STD testing, yearly physicals, education, needle exchange, and assistance with referral to recovery facilities. All services are 100% confidential. Help us, help you!

This month, Public Health will be adding another member to its little family, and we just KNOW you’re gonna love her! Starting Friday we will have a Nurse Practitioner on staff three days a week. Previously, Diana Boyle would see patients once a month for Family Planning, BCCSP, and sports physicals. Now, she will be expanding her presence and services here at the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department.

Diana will offer the community a variety of affordable health services including: Family Planning services, consultations, sports physicals, work physicals, Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Screening Program services, Well Child Visits, eye exams, treatment for various illnesses, and more.

Doesn’t that sound great? Believe it or not, we have more in store for the community of Taylor County! In December, we will be introducing our new Behavioral Health Program to the community. We will have a Licensed Social Worker on board who will offer counseling for a multitude of behavioral and psychological issues. As we get closer to December, more information will be released regarding registration for the Behavioral Health Program.

These services will be offered by appointment only. Making an appointment is as easy as calling the office at 304-265-1288 and asking for a Public Health Nurse or visiting our website at www.GTCHDWV.org. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you with our expanded services!
